My Tree: Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Can I have more than one tree?

Yes. You may have as many trees as you like as long as you do not exceed the storage space available at your account level (2GB for Free and Advanced plans, 10GB for Premium plans).

2.  Can I merge my trees?

No. American AncesTREES cannot merge two trees at this time.

3. Can I add a GEDCOM file to an existing tree?

No, you must create a new tree and start with a GEDCOM file in order to include the file in a tree. If you have already created a tree but would like to create a new one with a GEDCOM, click on the name of your tree at the top of the left menu. In the dialogue box that appears, click "New Tree." This will bring you back to the screen where you can name your new tree and upload your GEDCOM.

5.  How do I change the root person for my tree?
