Getting Started with American AncesTREES

Welcome to American AncesTREES! Our goal is to make your family history easy to research and easy to share. Here are some tips for getting started:

1. Sync people with FamilySearch so you can share sources, media, and data while maintaining control of your family tree. When you sync information you have added to your AmericanAncesTREE with Family Search, your data on AmericanAncesTREES will remain the same. No one can edit your data without your permission.
2. Add photos and tag people, then make videos telling family stories. You can post your videos on social media to share with your family.
3. Grow your family tree by accepting hints from partners or conducting your own research. 
4. Invite family members to view pages or collaborate on your family tree. It's free—new users will need to create free guest accounts at AmericanAncestors.org in order to view trees and create their own.
